Healthy Pear and Ginger Cocktail Two Ways – Perfect For New Years Eve!

New Year’s Eve is right around the corner and we have the perfect signature drink for you! The great thing about this Healthy Pear and Ginger Cocktail is that it can be made two ways, one with just bourbon and the other with champagne and a splash of bourbon. We love having homemade cocktails because it ensure that they are made with fresh ingredients that have nutritional value. While we aren’t saying cocktails are healthy, but we do love balance and we also love to insert nutrition into anything we can.

This drink was inspired by a cocktail they serve at P.S. Kitchen in New York City. If you are ever in NYC, this vegan restaurant is worth hunting down. Not only was the food delicious and of course, the cocktails divine, they actually donate one hundred percent of their profits to sustainable economic development charities, both locally and overseas. Back to the cocktail…since New Year’s Eve is so close, we thought – let’s make a drink with fresh healthy ingredients but one that also tastes great with champagne. After all, champagne is synonymous with New Year’ Eve.

Let’s talk about why we love this cocktail. Not only does it taste delicious, but the ginger and pear contain some great nutritional benefits:

GINGER:

Healthy Pear and Ginger Cocktail Two Ways – Perfect For New Years Eve

Description

This Healthy Champagne Cocktail is made with fresh healthy ingredients and is delicious, perfect for New Year’s Eve!


Ingredients

Units Scale

Champagne Cocktail

  • 1/2 cup champagne
  • 1/2 cup pear purée
  • 1 Tablespoon good quality Bourbon (total, 1/2 T in each glass)

Bourbon Cocktail

  • Bourbon
  • Pear Purée

Pear Purée:

  • 3 pears, peeled and cut and cored
  • juice of one lemon
  • 1 inch of freshly peeled ginger

Instructions

To Make Pear Purée

  1. Place all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Place in the refrigerator to chill or if you are short on time, you can add a few ice cubes to the blender.

To Make Champagne Cocktail

  1. Add to both champagne glasses: 1/4 cup champagne, 1/4 cup pear purée and 1/2 tablespoon of bourbon, stir and top with candied ginger and enjoy!

To Make Bourbon Cocktail

  1. Add 2/3 part pear purée and 1/3 part bourbon to glass of your choice with ice. Stir and enjoy!
