We are well aware of the deep love people have for granola (we are one of those people), one handful usually leads to half the bag poured on your morning parfait. But did you know that many store-bought granolas contain a ton of sugar, unhealthy fats, and empty calories? Homemade granola is an easy way to cut all of that bad stuff out plus save you a few bucks in the process! Our Homemade Grain-Free Turmeric Granola is so easy to make and will provide you with a delicious savory, sweet treat. It is low in sugar and also contains the superfood spice, turmeric! Not only did we use all natural sugar, it all comes from the naturally occurring sugar in the dried fruit, so this granola will not spike your blood sugar levels and will provide anti-inflammatory properties, thanks to the turmeric.
We also made our granola purely gluten and grain-free so those of us who aren’t eating gluten or grains can enjoy granola again, wahoo!! We’ve discussed the amazing benefits of the fan favorite anti-inflammatory spice, turmeric, in our Vegan Turmeric Milk and Turmeric Coconut Quinoa posts. So this time around we are going to focus on the nuts in this recipe that, by the way, are loaded with nutrients.
