Since the name of our blog is Sage & Celery, it’s high time we do a post on the wonders of celery! When you go to a party and see a veggie tray, celery is usually the only veggie not eaten. Why is that? Well, let’s be honest, it doesn’t have a lot of taste but it sure packs a nutritious punch and is worth a seat at the table.
Some of you may have even heard that celery juice is next up on the list of miracle cures so we want to tell you a little bit about why it’s getting this well-earned reputation.
Celery:

- Has 25 anti-inflammatory compounds to protect the body from inflammation, which can lead to chronic illness
- Aids in alkalizing the body due to its minerals
- High in fiber and water which helps digestion

There are some wellness experts that say drinking 16 ounces of pure celery juice a day on an empty stomach can have you feeling relief from a lot of ailments in just 7 days. However, drinking straight celery juice is not so easy a task, so we created this recipe to make it more palatable.
The is a lot of science on the nutritional value of celery, however, the claims that drinking straight celery juice in a certain prescribed manner will cure all your ailments has yet to be proven. According to Kerri Glassman, RD of Nutritious Life, “there’s no established science that says it will transform your health in massive ways” she goes on to say that it doesn’t mean there won’t be some research uncovered in the future.

Description
This celery juice is so easy to make and super nutritious!
Ingredients
2 organic celery stalks
1/2 organic pear
1/2 organic cucumber
Juice half a lemon
Handful of spinach
1/2 inch of fresh, peeled ginger
Handful of ice
Instructions
1.) Place all the ingredient in a high-speed blender and process.
2.) We like the pulp but if you don’t like the pulp, you can always strain it with a cheesecloth. Enjoy!
